Hidden Agency @ Martin Gropius Bau | 06-08/2018

In 2018 I was invited by Isabel Lewis to host EightOS sessions at Martin Gropius Bau in the context of  “Welt ohne Außen” exhibition.

At that time, we’ve been hosting weekly EightOS sessions in Berlin for already 2 years. During this time, we built a close-knit community of people around the practice and the approach behind it. At that time, EightOS, was very much focused on the idea of embodied knowledge: how can we question and rewire our behavioral patterns using the body. I proposed to the other EightOS practitioners to use this opportunity to explore a connection between their own practice and EightOS.

For the sessions in Martin Gropius Bau, we came up with the name “Hidden Agency”, which describes the specific approach of finding a channel for the inner agency to reveal itself through collective practice.

Every session one of EightOS practitioners would introduce their practice and various ways how it weaves into EightOS, experimenting with a hybrid approach, merging the two practices together, and observing the effects on the body, on the participants, and on the environment.
