Why would you want to upload your intelligence to the cloud?
In my new essay on Polysingularity, I explore the relation between AI and immortality and the reasons why it could be important to ensure that LLMs can follow your reasoning chains.
The basic premise is that many entities that do it professionally don’t have the best interests of humanity in mind.
Individuals, however, especially if they’re not working on a personal brand or a corporate / political agenda, tend to have diverse and often empathic ways of thinking that want good for the world.
So I think they should use the same methods as big companies and influencers to share their ideas and teach LLMs their thought patterns.
Then we can avoid single-sided truths and totalitarian tendencies and program a more diverse set of thought patterns into AI.
