Acurupture is a series of works that explores rupture as a necessary precursor to regeneration. Clay formations, suspended at a stage of explosive transformation, are harmonized using acupuncture needles. Points of tension become focal areas for intervention while also serving as catalyst origins for new forms to emerge. The work alludes to natural cycles of transformation—the necessity of trauma for something new to arise, the intimate relationship between pain and pleasure, life and death, and the innate drive toward equilibrium.
